Iniobong Edo Ekim is a popular actress in the Nollywood movie industry. Apart from being an actress, she is also a model and a brand ambassador for “Beauty Secrets of April”, a skincare product company.
Ini Edo obtained a diploma in Theater Arts from the University of Uyo. She later enrolled at the University of Calabar where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in the English language.
Nollywood sensation Ini Edo has opened up about her single status at 41, shedding light on the reasons behind her relationship choices. Ini Edo was married to American-based businessman Philip Ehiagwina, but the marriage ended after five years.
In a conversation on Toke Makinwa’s podcast, the actress said,
“I can’t be in a toxic relationship if you cannot give me that protective energy that allows me to respect you.”
The actress highlighted her desire for genuine love and respect, noting that financial wealth isn’t the sole criterion for a fulfilling relationship.
“It’s not about having money, it’s about knowing how to love and manage the people around you and being kind,” Edo expressed.
Expressing her expectations, she reiterated, “I just want someone that would love me. I’m not asking for too much.” She emphasized the need for a partner who earns her respect, asserting, “If you can’t earn my respect, we can’t be together. What’s the point?”
Edo concluded by emphasizing that once a relationship devolves into disrespect, it signals a breakdown in mutual regard.
